The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a warning regarding dense to extremely dense fog conditions present in various regions of North India.
The IMD reports that foggy weather is presently impacting West Rajasthan, South Haryana, Northeast Uttar Pradesh, North Bihar, and certain areas of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
Moreover, the IMD has stated that areas in Northeast India are facing thick fog, impairing visibility and affecting everyday activities. The Mahakumbh area, encompassing Haridwar and its nearby locations, is seeing foggy weather, but the IMD has not indicated dense to very dense fog in this zone.
The hazy weather is anticipated to persist for the upcoming days, with the IMD recommending that individuals take essential precautions when traveling. The thick fog can impair visibility, complicating navigation for drivers on roads and heightening the chances of collisions.
The IMD has also recommended that farmers implement necessary measures to safeguard their crops from the fog, as it can harm specific varieties of crops. The department will keep an eye on the weather conditions and provide updates as needed.
In the interim, it is recommended that individuals remain inside during the early morning when the fog tends to be most thick, and utilize fog lights while driving to lower the chances of accidents.
