Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a tragic incident, a class 10 student died after her mobile phone exploded when she was using the device while charging it, at her maternal aunt’s place under Gautampura police station in the district, police said on Saturday.
The police have started an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances under which the incident happened.
SDOP (Sanwer) Prashant Singh Bhadoriya informed the Free Press that the deceased was identified as Urvashi Choudhary, 16, a resident of Simrod village in Sanwer tehsil. She along with her mother had gone to her maternal uncle’s place in Dharmat village a few days ago. From there, she had gone to meet her maternal aunt in Gadhi village where she was using the mobile phone in a room while charging it. The phone suddenly exploded and she was critically injured in the incident on Friday.
The family members took her to a hospital in Sanwer where she died during treatment late on Friday.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Urvashi received critical burns on the face so it was believed that she was talking on phone while charging it when the phone exploded. No family member was in the room, so the exact circumstances were not known. The phone was completely damaged. Urvashi was a student of class 10 and was excellent in studies.
