Delhi Elections 2025: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has now taken a big step to attract the middle class amid the assembly elections. Aam Aadmi Party President Arvind Kejriwal has demanded from the Central Government to provide relief to the middle class. Kejriwal made 7 demands from the central government and described it as his election manifesto for the middle class.
Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘For the first time in the country, our party is announcing an election manifesto for the middle class.’ However, he did not promise how the middle class would get relief if he forms the government in Delhi for the fourth time. But, he has put forward 7 demands before the Central Government and said, ‘This is our manifesto for the middle class.’
Kejriwal’s 7 demands
- The education budget should be increased from 2 percent to 10 percent. Fees of private schools should be curbed across the country.
- To provide grants and scholarships for higher education.
- The health budget should also be increased by 10 percent and the tax on health insurance should be removed.
- Income tax exemption limit should be at least Rs 10 lakh.
- GST should be removed from the necessities of life.
- A strong retirement plan and pension scheme for senior citizens and free treatment in all hospitals across the country.
- The 50 percent discount previously given to senior citizens in Railways should be restarted.
ATM for middle class government: Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that no party is ready to talk for the middle class. One government after another has come and all of them have suppressed the middle class. Nothing has been done for the middle class, but when the government needs it, the government uses the weapon of tax on the middle class. The middle class has become an ATM for the government. India’s middle class is becoming a victim of tax terrorism. What are the dreams of the middle class? Good job-business for yourself, education for children and good health of the family. For which he works hard all his life and expects some relief from the government. But, the government is neither building good schools, nor providing good hospitals or employment for them.
Kejriwal said that in no country is the middle class harassed so much. If someone earns Rs 12 lakh in a year, then including all taxes, more than 50 percent of the income goes in taxes only. Tax will also have to be paid on milk, curd and puja materials. If you buy a house there’s tax, if you sell it there’s tax, if you buy a car there’s tax and if you sell it there’s tax. You have to pay tax while you are alive, now you will have to pay tax even after death.
