Bengaluru: Bengalurians woke up to cloudy skies and a pleasant breeze this morning. The residents of the city are set to experience heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning on April 3, 2025. Meanwhile, the temperature is also likely to decrease by 3 degrees Celsius to 4 degrees Celsius, and the rainfall is likely to be accompanied by lightning, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in the city for today. The minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to range from 21 degrees Celsius in the morning and 32 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. The city witnessed the Sunrise at 06:15 AM and the Sun is expected to set at 06:31 PM. The humidity is expected to be around 54 per cent.
IMD predicted rainfall in the city
The weather department said that rainfall is likely to occur in Karnataka due to the influence of cyclonic circulation, which is active in the Bay of Bengal, and now a depression has formed off Odisha’s coast, which may intensify into a cyclone. Numerous regions of Karnataka will witness cloudy weather accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in North Interior Karnataka with heavy showers likely in some areas.
KSNDMC shared a weather report
The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitering Centre (KSNDMC) shared a weather report for next five days on X and wrote, “1st to 3rd April over the state with cloudy weather, thunder, lightning & squall with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph, scattered moderate rain and heavy rain over northern hinterland.”
An orange alert has been issued in these regions
The weather department has placed these districts under an orange alert: Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Bijapur, Chitradurga, Raichur, Vijayapura, Koppal, Yadgiri, Ballari, Kalaburagi, and Vijayanagara. These districts are set to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gudty winds.
