Navi Mumbai: The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has announced a budget of Rs 14,130 crore for the financial year 2025-26, focusing on major infrastructure projects such as the Navi Mumbai International Airport, metro expansion, housing schemes, and water supply initiatives.
CIDCO Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Vijay Singhal, presented the budget, outlining an expenditure plan of Rs 14,120 crore and projected revenue of Rs 14,130 crore. The budget highlights key projects like the Navi Mumbai International Airport, NAINA (Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area), international edu-city, and critical transportation projects including the Ulwe coastal road and the Kharghar-Turbhe link road.
Singhal emphasized the importance of these projects, said, “Major CIDCO projects like the Navi Mumbai International Airport, NAINA, metro, international edu-city, and mass housing scheme are at crucial stages. This budget ensures the timely completion of these projects while improving connectivity and water supply in Navi Mumbai.”
CIDCO, a prominent urban development authority, has played a crucial role in Maharashtra’s infrastructure development for 55 years. Through e-governance and digital initiatives, the corporation has improved transparency and efficiency in government services, Singhal claimed.
The budget allocates significant funds to expedite the construction progress of the Navi Mumbai International Airport. Expansion of metro connectivity within Navi Mumbai remains a priority, ensuring improved public transportation.
The mass housing scheme will be strengthened to provide more affordable housing options. Water infrastructure enhancements are also a key focus, with investments aimed at improving water supply across urban areas. New township projects are planned to develop smart and sustainable urban communities.
Transport and connectivity improvements, including the Ulwe coastal road, Kharghar-Turbhe link road, and railway projects, will be implemented to ease congestion and improve mobility. Additionally, the development of an international corporate park and an edu-city is expected to promote business and educational growth.
“CIDCO aims to drive development with sound financial practices, accountability, and efficiency, ensuring the successful implementation of its ambitious urban projects. We remain committed to strengthening Maharashtra’s infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents,” he added.
