Chairman and Managing Director of the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), Vijay Singhal, conducted an official review of two major infrastructure projects in Navi Mumbai — the Kharghar-Turbhe Tunnel Link Road and the CIDCO Housing Scheme near Kharghar Railway Station.
Accompanied by senior officials including Shantanu Goel and Dr. Raja Dayanidhi (Joint Managing Directors, CIDCO), Sheela Karunakaran (Chief Engineer, Navi Mumbai International Airport and Special Projects), Prabhakar Phulari (Additional Chief Engineer), Santosh Ombhase (Superintending Engineer), and other CIDCO officers and staff, Singhal visited the project sites to assess the current status and pace of development.

The Kharghar-Turbhe Tunnel Link Road project, a key infrastructure initiative by CIDCO, aims to enhance connectivity between North and South Navi Mumbai. The proposed 5.490 km four-lane link will stretch from the Sion-Panvel Highway, opposite Juinagar Railway Station, to Central Park in Kharghar. Significantly, the route includes a 1.763 km long tunnel, which is expected to ease traffic congestion and reduce travel time between the two nodes.
In addition to the transport infrastructure, CIDCO is also developing a transit-oriented housing scheme near Kharghar Railway Station. Kharghar, known for its planned development and quality lifestyle, is among the most desirable residential nodes in Navi Mumbai. The upcoming housing project aims to provide modern, well-equipped residences catering to the growing demand for high-standard living spaces in the region.
During the site visits, Singhal expressed satisfaction with the progress and directed concerned officials to expedite the work to ensure timely completion. He emphasized the importance of maintaining quality while adhering to project deadlines to better serve the residents of Navi Mumbai.
