Pattaya: A Chinese couple was arrested in Thailand’s Pattaya for having sex in the middle of a Thai street. Sixty-seven-year-old Oh Zhihang and his partner 35-year-old Lin Tingting set up a tripod to record the act. The couple then stripped themselves before having intercourse on a pavement, reported The New York Post. The incident took place on Wednesday.
A security guard, who had seen the couple having sex on the footpath near the entrance to the Walking Street, reportedly alerted the police. The guard even clicked the couple’s photograph before they left the spot and showed them to the police, reported The Bangkok Post.
The police tracked the couple with the help of the photo clicked by the security guard and took them to Pattaya City police station for interrogation.
As per the report by The New York Post, Zhihang told the police that he did not have any idea that having public sex was illegal in Thailand.
“I’m a photographer who likes to travel around the world to take nude photos in various locations. I have visited many countries where I have done the same thing,” Zhihang told police as quoted by The New York Post.
The couple later apologised for the act. As per Police Colonel Songwut Chueplakij, the couple would be fined for their indecent behaviour and could face a jail term of up to 10 years, if they have published the content online.
