Taipei (Taiwan): China has built special purpose boats. Hence, there is a wave of concern in the world. Radio-Free-Asia quoted experts as saying the boats could help Beijing quickly land its troops on the island nation. During World War II, the Allies landed troops on the beaches of Normandy in similar amphibious boats.
China also builds such yachts with Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) located on Longshu Island. Construction is going on there. He has already built five such barges. Another work will be done soon. The bottom of these barges is flat. It can swim even in rough seas and shallow waters. They are designed to be capable of carrying heavy combat equipment, vehicles and soldiers. It also does not require any port or push.
Radio Free Asia further states that these are barges, with bridges over 120 meters (393 ft) long. Which can be washed onto the oceanic continental shelf. This bridge is strong enough to carry heavy trucks and tanks. Jack-tip-pillars are also kept along with it so that it does not move. This keeps the bridge stable even in rough sea conditions and is very useful for easily landing tanks, heavy vehicles and soldiers ashore even in bad weather.
Radio Free Asia (RFA) further states that Michael Hu-Zecker, Associate Director of George Mason University’s Center for Security PVC Studies, says that all these preparations by Beijing reflect China’s serious thinking regarding Taiwan.
Some analysts fear that China will attack Taiwan without hesitation, just when the US is busy with the swearing-in of the President.
Taiwan has also made that calculation, so it will also have to use all its power to protect itself and die to maintain the country’s sovereignty.
