Chile’s President Gabriel Borik Font has visited India. This is his first visit to India, where he was welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House. President Borik praised PM Modi during his address at Rashtrapati Bhavan and said that he could talk to any leader in the world. Borik also said that PM Modi has emerged as an important geopolitical player today.

Discussing the role of PM Modi in his address, President Borik said, “Prime Minister Modi’s position has become such that he can talk to every leader in the world today. He is supporting Latin American leaders in Trump, Jailnsky, European Union, Greece and Iran.
Chile-India Relations
The President of Chile expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome received when he came to India. He said, “I want to say thank you for this great reception I received by India. No one has come to India from Chile in the last 16 years, and India has changed a lot in these 16 years.” President Borik also talked about strengthening the relations between Chile and India.
He also said, “Chile is a country that is connected to the whole world, and now we are willing to improve our relations with India. Today we have signed many consent letters that will pave the way for our future cooperation.”
Borik came to India on Modi’s invitation
Chile’s President Gabriel Borik Font is visiting India from 1-5 April 2025, the journey is on the occasion of completion of 76 years of India-Tili diplomatic relations. President Borik has come to India on the invitation of PM Modi. Along with him, Chile’s agriculture, mining, foreign, art and inheritance ministers, many high officials and business leaders have also come to India. Apart from New Delhi, he will also go to Mumbai, Agra and Bengaluru during Borik’s visit.
