Kanpur, 08 July (Hindustan Times). Children want to learn new things and a little change in what we do can make a difference. This was stated by State Governor Anandiben Patel, the chief guest of the program while addressing the Kumbh of educationists at Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Kanpur University (CSJMU) on Saturday.

He said that we just need to recognize our strength. If we work hard, we can change the face of the university. Today’s kids want to innovate. If we engage with them, a big change will be seen. Universities must keep their students busy in some work or the other. If the children remain empty, they will protest, demonstrate when any new thing comes. If he is busy with his work then this will never happen. We think that after one work is done, we will start another work, which is wrong. We can do many things at once. We just need to change our thinking.

He said that there was a plan to do yoga in college and university, which turned out to be a very good program. The children demonstrated by doing yoga under water, which was far away from the thinking of the people. We should introduce children to history. In the program of Yoga, 16 lakh youth have participated in the entire state.

He said that a big change took place after the National Assessment and Accreditation Council came into existence. In its first meeting, people were very hesitant to speak, but when the NACC was held, in the second meeting, there was a lot of inhibition in people’s speaking. If a student is upset, get up from the table and solve his problem. He said that whatever MoUs have been signed with foreign countries are not common. Technology has transferred. A lot of work is going to happen in the coming times.

University should hold a brainstorming meeting

He said that all the universities should hold a brainstorming meeting, only then everyone’s views will come out, when people will present their views then only we can decide on something.

Universities need mapping

Chandigarh University Vice Chancellor Sanjit Singh said that in today’s time there is a great need of mapping all the universities, which very few people are doing. If we have to join the ranking then first of all do mapping, when I came to Kanpur University, I saw their booklet.
