Raipur: The State Election Commissioner, Chhattisgarh Ajay Singh, announced on Monday the dates for urban body and three-tier Panchayat elections in the state. With the notification, the model code of conduct has been enforced.

The urban body elections will be conducted in a single phase on February 11, with nominations starting from January 22 and withdrawals allowed until January 31. Vote counting is scheduled for February 15.

The Panchayat elections will occur in three phases on February 17, 20, and 23. Nominations can be filed between January 27 and February 3.

The First phase nomination for three-tier panchayat starts on January 27 and last date is February 3. The scrutiny of nomination is on February 4 and withdrawal is on February 6. The polling is on February 17 and result on February 18.

The Second phase nomination for three-tier panchayat starts on January 27 and last date is February 3. The scrutiny of nomination is on February 4 and withdrawal is on February 6. The polling is on February 20 and result on February 21.

In the Third phase, the nomination process has same date while the polling is on February 23 and result on February 24.

In the urban body elections, general polls will take place in 10 Municipal Corporations, 49 Municipal Councils, and 114 Nagar Panchayats, while by-elections will be held in five wards in Durg and Sukma districts to fill vacant seats.

The elections will see participation from 44,74,269 voters, comprising 22,00,525 men, 22,73,232 women, and 512 other voters. In the by-elections, 16,181 voters will cast their ballots. Voter lists with photographs have been prepared.

For the elections, 5,970 polling stations have been set up for the general polls, and 22 polling stations have been established for the by-elections. Among these, 1,531 polling stations are marked as sensitive, and 132 stations are categorized as highly sensitive.
