Raipur: Chhattisgarh stands on the brink of a historic milestone in its fight against left-wing extremism, according to President Droupadi Murmu. Speaking at the Chhattisgarh Assembly during its silver jubilee celebration, she emphasized that efforts to integrate those affected by extremism into mainstream society have reached a decisive and conclusive phase.
Highlighting the aspirations of people in Naxal-affected regions, she noted their eagerness to embrace the path of development. Expressing optimism, she asserted that Chhattisgarh is close to becoming entirely free from extremism—a transformation that would mark a historic turning point for the state.
President Murmu also underscored Chhattisgarh’s immense developmental potential, pointing to its rich mineral reserves and promising prospects in the industrial and agricultural sectors.
She stressed the importance of balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability, acknowledging the global recognition of the state’s traditional folk crafts. While celebrating Chhattisgarh’s lush green forests, majestic waterfalls, and vital rivers such as the Mahanadi, Hasdeo, Indravati, and Shivnath, she urged policymakers to ensure that development does not come at the cost of ecological balance.
Calling for inclusive growth, she encouraged public representatives to work towards ensuring that all sections of society benefit from the state’s progress. Reiterating the teachings of Guru Ghasidas, President Murmu highlighted the importance of social equality and harmony, encapsulated in the phrase “Mankhe-Mankhe Ek Saman.”
She described the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly as a model democratic institution and extended her best wishes for the state’s future. She urged public representatives to work with dedication and commitment to build a progressive and inclusive Chhattisgarh, fostering a society rooted in equality and unity.
