Raipur: Chhattisgarh government has declared seven days of state mourning across the state from December 26 to January 1 to honour the late former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi.

In this regard, the General Administration Department (GAD), Government of Chhattisgarh has written a letter to all departments, Chairman of Board of Revenue Bilaspur, all heads of departments, divisional commissioners, collectors and joint collectors.

During this period the National flag will be flown at half mast throughout Chhattisgarh where it is regularly flown and there will be no official entertainment during the period of state mourning.

As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, the seven days of state mourning is being observed.
