Raipur: Congress party has cancelled the expulsion of 18 rebel leaders, including the former MIC member Ajit Kukreja. The decision has paved the way for the rebel leaders to re-join their previous political party. The suspension/termination order was revoked by the Congress party in Chhattisgarh, immediately after the urban body elections.
Regarding the cancellation of expulsion of 18 rebel Congress leaders and permitting them to rejoin the party, an official order has been released by Congress state in-charge General Secretary Malkit Singh Gaidu.

The induction of these leaders back into the party was recommended by a scrutiny committee set up by the Congress. Following the recommendation of the committee, the decision was taken with the permission of All India Congress Committee general secretary and Chhattisgarh in-charge Sachin Pilot.
The order has ensured the returning of rebel party leaders Ajit Kukreja (Raipur), Shanu Dubey, Diwakar Sahu, Jasbir Gubbar (Bilaspur), Vishwajeet Bohra (Mahasamund), Kajal Nag (Kanker), Brahm Dutt Mandvi, Manoj Malviya (Dantewada), Narendra (Tandon) Surin, Jugal Sahu (Balod), Hidayat Ansari, Mulkishore Sahu, Tulsi Sahu, Sohan Sahu, Khalid Mirza, Sanjay Nishad, Pratapdev Sahu and Ritesh Sahu.
Meanwhile, earlier when the Congress party had decided to revoke the termination of the rebel Congress leaders, former MLA Kuldeep Juneja had opposed the move. He objected to the return of Ajit Kukreja to the party. Ajit Kukreja filed nomination as an independent candidate against the official Congress candidate Kuldeep Juneja in the assembly elections.
It has been rumoured that the decision is likely to increase resentment in the party as many leaders including Juneja had opposed it. Party insiders say that such a decision could lead to resentment among the old and loyal leaders of the Congress, which could weaken the policy and discipline of the organization.
