The budget session of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly 2025 has now been formally concluded. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh described this session held in the capital Raipur as historical and cordial. He informed that a total of 17 meetings were held during this budget session, in which there was a thorough discussion for 111 hours.

During the session, the members showed their full activism – 2,504 questions (starred and unstarred) placed in the House and 562 attention information was received. These figures are proof that there was an active participation in the democratic process and there was a serious brainstorm on the policies and schemes of the state.

The house is sitting in the old assembly building for the last time

This budget session was also special in this sense as it was the last session of the current assembly building. The upcoming monsoon session, proposed in July 2025, will be held in the new assembly building. There is also enthusiasm among MLAs and administrative officials about this new beginning.

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai’s statement: “Charicious and positive session”

At the conclusion of the budget session, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said in his address that the session was held in a very cordial atmosphere. He thanked all the MLAs, especially the members of the opposition and said that,

“The government is continuously working towards good governance and some suggestions from the opposition will really prove to be creative and useful in public interest.”

The Chief Minister also acknowledged that the biggest strength of healthy democracy is that all parties should discharge their role and talk unitedly on the issues of public interest.

Detailed discussion on grant demands, more than ₹ 19,630 crore sanctioned

During this session, the demands related to various departments in the assembly were also discussed in depth. After this, the House unanimously passed the demands of more than ₹ 19,630 crore.

This decision will strengthen many development plans:

  • Development of infrastructure boom
  • Public welfare schemes are strengthened
  • Extension of facilities in rural and urban areas
  • Paving the way for new projects in areas like health, education and roads

The Chief Minister assured that the government is committed to take Chhattisgarh to new heights of development by utilizing these resources.
