Raipur: The Chhattisgarh State Assembly has increased the daily allowance for MLAs from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000. This unanimous decision was made during the third day of the winter session when the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Member Salary, Allowance, and Pension (Amendment) Bill, 2024 was passed.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kedar Kashyap presented the bill, which stipulates that MLAs will receive the new allowance for attending Assembly sessions and committee meetings. The amendment is expected to impose an additional financial burden of Rs 23,60,000 on the exchequer.
