Raipur: On the third day of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly’s winter session, the House passed the second supplementary budget demanding grants for the financial year 2024-25, totalling Rs 805,71,74,286, via a voice vote on Thursday.
Meanwhile, during the discussion on supplementary budget the Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Charan Das Mahant, accused the government of keeping biases in approving projects.
He alleged that the works are mainly sanctioned in BJP MLAs’ constituencies while Congress MLAs face delays.
This is just a contradiction to “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” that what BJP preaches and what it practices, he said.
During the discussion on the supplementary grants, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary announced a provision of around Rs 250 crore for the Drone Didi initiative. He also stated that the state government will commemorate 2025 as Atal Nirman Varsh.
Choudhary noted that Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s government has fulfilled most promises under Modi Kee Guarantee, with 70 lakh women benefiting from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
The government is prioritizing job creation for the youth and ensuring adequate funding for capital projects, with Rs 20 crore. He further mentioned, the Central government has allocated around Rs 3624 crore for capital expenses in Chhattisgarh.
Irrespective of allegations from LOP, the Finance Minister assured that there would be no discrimination and that development works would proceed with financial discipline.
