Preparations for Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand are going on loudly. The doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham will open on April 30, with which the journey will begin. This time too, millions of devotees are expected to arrive to visit Baba Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. The administration is fully involved in the preparations for the journey, but cyber thugs have also become active before the journey starts. To deal with these thugs, Cyber Police and Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UKADA) plans to take strict steps. Passengers have been advised to book from official websites.
Strict action against fraud
Heli services for Kedarnath Dham will start from May 2, and its online booking process starts from 8 April. For this, passengers website of IRCTC heliyatra.irctc.co.in will go on. Heli services starting from Guptkashi, Sirsi and Phata will be a smooth darshan for devotees. Yukada and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have completed all preparations in this direction. The UKada official said that this time social media will also be closely monitored so that the fraud can be stopped. Last year too, strict action was taken against cyber thugs.
Steps to avoid cyber thugs
Haley services for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib are operated every year, but some fake websites and scammers try to cheat passengers. Uttarakhand Cyber Cell has taken several steps to stop this. The cyber police has appealed that passengers should book only through the official website of the Uttarakhand government. Last year, 80 fake websites cheated in the name of Chardham Yatra were discontinued and more than 30 fake Facebook advertisements were removed. Additionally, more than 50 bank accounts were freed and several thugs were arrested from whom mobile phones and laptops were also recovered.
Police appeal
The police have urged passengers not to share their personal information, such as Aadhaar card or PAN card, online with anyone. The vigilance of the administration and police is expected that this time the journey will be smooth and safe. The police have appealed to the devotees to investigate the authenticity of the website before booking tickets and immediately contact the cyber helpline 1930 in case of any doubt.
