Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Chaos erupted in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur after police barred Bajrang Dal workers from carrying out the ‘Shaurya Yatra ‘procession through Muslim-dominated areas of the city on Tuesday.

Heavy police were deployed to control hundreds of members of Hindu outfits who were adamant about carrying out the rally from Muslim-dominated areas such as Mandi Madar Tekri.

The police placed barricades to stop the Bajrang Dal workers, which irked the latter. The agitated members of the Hindu organization, including women, tried to remove the barricades; some of them even attempted to hop over it.

Slogans of Har Har Mahadev, Jai Shri Ram in air

The workers refused to give up and waved saffron flags, chanting slogans of ‘Har Har Mahadev, Jai Shri Ram.’ The visuals show two youths sitting on a car’s bonnet trying to displace the barricades.

Top officials of the district administration and police reached the spot to pacify the situation and avert any untoward incident.

The police officials said that the Bajrang Dal workers have been barred from taking out their Shaurya Yatra from Muslim-dominated areas to maintain peace and avoid a situation of law and order.

The Bajrang Dal activists are taking out Shaurya Yatra as part of the extended celebration of the Shaurya Diwas to commemorate the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992, across various parts of the state.
