Patna: On Monday, the weather of Bihar suddenly changed the attitude and shocked the entire state. After noon, the sky was surrounded by black clouds in many districts including Patna, Siwan, Saran, Jehanabad, which caused darkness during the day. Strong winds, power thunder and heavy rains made the weather very pleasant, but with this, life was disturbed in many places.
A situation of waterlogging was created in major places like Gandhi Maidan, Kankarbagh, Kadamkuan, Nehru Path, affecting traffic. Due to rain and reduction, the drivers had to burn headlights during the day itself.
Meteorological Department issued alert
According to the meteorological center, this seasonal change in the state may remain for the next few days. A red alert has been issued for Patna, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur and Vaishali districts on Monday. At the same time, during the next 24 hours, Yellow alert has been declared in 20 districts including Patna regarding light rain and thunder-thunderstorms.
Aperange alert has been issued due to strong winds (50-80 km/h), thunderbolt and cloud roaring in Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Munger, Jamui and Banka districts. Yellow alert is applicable in many districts including the capital in view of the possibility of wind blowing at a speed of 40-50 km/h.
Western disturbance and dronica cause
According to meteorologists, the main reason for this change is Western disturbances and Dronika, which extends from western Madhya Pradesh to Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Bangladesh. Due to this cyclonic circulation, there is a situation of thunderstorms and light to moderate rains. On 16 April, the effect of western disturbances will be seen more in the Himalayan regions.
Where did it rain in the last 24 hours?
Various parts of the state recorded good rainfall on Monday. Kuchayakot in Gopalganj received the highest 38.6 mm rainfall, while 30.4 mm in Daronda, Siwan, 28.8 mm at dawn, 28.4 mm in Bagaha, 27.0 mm in Maharajganj and 10.5 mm in Purnia.
The capital Patna received light 0.4 mm of rainfall, while Gaya received 10.2 mm, Dehri 0.6 mm, Sheikhpura 0.5 mm, Rajgir 13.5 mm and Bikramganj in Rohtas received 5.5 mm of rainfall.
Temperature fall
The temperature also saw a drop due to strong winds and rain. The maximum temperature of Patna fell 5.2 degrees Celsius below normal to 34.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Gaya district was 36.6 degrees Celsius, which was the highest in the entire state.
