India and New Zealand have faced only once in the Champions Trophy, which was in the finals of the 2000 edition when the Kiwis won. The Men in Blue will face them in the 2025 edition on March 2.
Pakistan hold a 3-2 lead over India in Champions Trophy games. Pakistan won in 2004, 2009 and the 2017 CT final. India have beaten them in 2013 and 2017 CT group stage.
India and Bangladesh have faced each other only once in CT history. They locked horns in the 2017 CT semi-final and India won by 9 wickets.
Australia and India have battled one another four times in the CT history. India have won twice, while Australia have emerged victorious only once. The remaining one ended in no-result.
India have beaten England on all three occasions in the ICC Champions Trophy editions – 2002, 2006 and 2013.
India and South Africa have locked horns on four occasions and the former has won all of them. They faced in 2000, 2002, 2013, and 2017.
With Afghanistan set to play in the Champions Trophy for the first time, India are yet to face them. However, India are unbeaten against Afghanistan in ODIs, winning 3 and tying 1.
Team India won the Champions Trophy in 2013 by beating England by 5 runs in Birmingham. In the process, MS Dhoni became the first captain to win all 3 ICC trophies.
Team India will open their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai. Rohit Sharma’s men will face Pakistan on 23 and New Zealand on March 2.
