The Indian cricket team players will travel without their family for the Champions Trophy 2025. The new travel policy of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is being implemented from this tournament. According to this policy, the players’ families can stay with them for a maximum of two weeks on 45 days or more visit.

The Indian team’s first match will be against Bangladesh in Dubai on 20 February. After this, a high-voltage match will be played against Pakistan on 23 February and then on March 2, New Zealand will be encountered. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team will play all their matches in Dubai, while the remaining matches of the tournament will be held in three cities of Pakistan from February 19.

BCCI’s new travel policy

The BCCI has issued strict guidelines regarding the travel rules of the players’ family. A board official told PTI, “The players will not go to their families at the moment. If any kind of situation changes, separately can be considered. A senior player had sought information about this, but he was told that the new policy would be followed. “

According to the policy, the player’s wife and children under 18 years of age can stay with them for a maximum of two weeks if they stay abroad for 45 days or more. If a player wants to make separate arrangements from this policy, he will have to get permission from the coach, captain and GM trainer. Also, the player himself will have to bear the responsibility of the expenditure of this period. The policy was implemented after India’s 1-3 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.

KL Rahul will be wicketkeeper of first choice

Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir has clarified that KL Rahul will be the first choice wicketkeeper in the Champions Trophy. There is no plan to include aggressive batsman Rishabh Pant in the final XI at the moment.

Recently, in the three -match ODI series against England, only Rishabh Pant was the only player who did not get a chance to play. Rahul batted at number six in the first two matches, but did not look comfortable. In the third match, he was sent to number five, where he scored 40 runs from 29 balls and India won the match by 142 runs.

Gambhir justified Rahul’s selection and said, “Rahul is currently our number one wicketkeeper. Rishabh Pant will get a chance, but Rahul is doing well at the moment, so we cannot play with two wicketkeeper batsmen. ”

Gambhir also clarified that the team’s collective interests are more important than any individual player. He justified Yashasvi Jaiswal’s decision to exclude the Champions Trophy team and to include spinner Varun Chakraborty in his place.
