Importance and date of Navratri
Chaitra Navratri has special significance in Hinduism. During this festival, nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped for nine days. In the year 2025, Chaitra Navratri will start from March 30 and celebrate till 9 April. Goddess Shailputri is worshiped on the first day and on this day there is also a law of establishment. It is necessary to take special care of direction, metal and time while installing the urn, because even the small mistake made in worship can cause Vastu Dosha and Devi’s displeasure.
Do not make these mistakes in the installation of Kalash
1. Establish urn in auspicious time
It is necessary to select the right time for the installation of urn. According to astrological calculations, on March 30, the auspicious time of Ghatasthapana will be from 6:13 am to 10:22 am. Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 12:01 to 12:50 pm. In these times, prepare for bathing and worship and install the urn.
2. Establish in the right direction
While installing the urn, take full care of the direction. Always install it in the north or east direction. The north-east direction is considered the most auspicious. If this direction is not available, then the north or east direction will also be suitable. The fruits of worship can be affected by installation in the wrong direction.
3. Use only proper metal
The metal of Kalash also plays an important role in worship. The urn of gold, silver or copper is considered superior, although the earthen urn is also auspicious. Other metals like iron should not be used, as it is considered inauspicious.
4. Shake or not remove the urn
Once the Kalash is established, neither shake it nor change the place. The urn should be kept stable for a full nine days. Not doing so can disturb the worship and is considered abusive.
