“Chaitra Navratri 2025: Auspicious time of Ghatasthapana, Law and necessary materials”

Chaitra Navratri has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. Navratri begins with Ghatasthapana, which is considered extremely necessary to do in auspicious time. This year Chaitra Navratri will start from Sunday, 30 March 2025, and will run for eight days till 6 April. This time Navratri will begin in Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, Budhaditya Yoga, Shukraditya Yoga and Lakshminarayan Yoga, which increases its importance further.

This time Maa Durga’s arrival on the elephant is considered a very auspicious sign, which makes the sum of prosperity and prosperity. Apart from this, there will also be a coincidence of Indra Yoga and Revathi Nakshatra on the first day of Navratri.

Auspicious time of Ghatasthapana

Pratipada date starts: 29 March 2025, 4:27 pm

Main Ghatasthapana Muhurta: 6:12 to 10:22 (duration: 4 hours 10 minutes)
Abhijit Muhurta: 12:09 to 12:49 (duration: 40 minutes)

If for some reason you are unable to do the Ghatasthapana in the initial Muhurta, it can be done in Abhijit Muhurta. Navratri Pujan is started by inviting deities at home with Ghatasthapana.

Method of Ghatasthapana (Ghatasthhapana Vidhi)

1. Put soil in earthen vessel and sow barley seeds in it.
2. Make a swastika with roli on a copper lotus and tie a molly.
3. Fill the water in the lotus and add a few drops of Ganga water to it.
4. Red color is dear to Mata Durga, so choose a red posture for idol installation.
5. After Ghatasthapana, worship Maa Durga duly and light the lamp.
6. Burn the monolithic light for nine days and chant the mantras and bhajan of Maa Durga.
