After being separated for almost two and a half years, star Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his choreographer wife Dhanashree Verma have divorced. For the past several days, rumors of divorce of both were going on, after which both of them filed a divorce application in the Bandra Family Court. Now on Thursday 20 March, the Family Court has approved the appeal for divorce of both. With this, their marriage is over 4 years and about 3 months.
The four -year relationship ended.
Star leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma married in December 2020. But this relationship ended in just 4 years. Appealing for divorce in the court, both of them said that they have been living separately from each other for the last two and a half years. Mumbai’s Bandra Family Court has given its final verdict on divorce. Chahal and Dhanashree arrived separately for this hearing. Chahal arrived with his lawyers wearing black jackets and masks first. And after a while Dhanashree came wearing a white T-shirt. He was also wearing a mask on his face. During this time, media crowd gathered to know the reaction of both, but no one responded.
Love came after friendship.
Chahal and Dhanashree were married on 24 December 2020. However, the news of the rift in their relationship started coming out three-four months ago, when they unfollowed each other on Instagram. Since then, rumors have been continuously flying but the divorce proceedings have been confirmed last month. Both appealed for this in the Bandra Family Court. Both also sought exemption from a 6-month cooling-off period, which was rejected by the court.
4.75 crores will be done to Dhanashree
He then appealed to the Bombay High Court and the court ordered the Family Court to resolve the case on 20 March, while delivering its verdict on Wednesday 19 March. The High Court also exempted the two from the cooling-off period, as they said that they have been living separately from each other for the last two and a half years. In exchange for this divorce, Chahal had also agreed to give Rs 4.75 crore to Dhanashree as maintenance, of which 50 percent has been given by the Indian cricketer and the rest will now be given to Dhanashree.
