A LinkedIn post shared by the CEO tried to communicate the idea ‘Time is money’ and it has gone viral and attracted many reactions. In his post, an Indian-origin CEO, Ravi Abuvala, claimed he hadn’t washed utensils in four years because it took too much of his valuable time. He mentioned that his worth per hour is USD 5,000, which he wouldn’t give up for a menial job like doing the dishes.
Ravi stated he would rather delegate the task of cleaning dishes to someone else and pay them a basic wage. Suggesting that the work wasn’t worth his time, he wrote that doing dishes was only worth $15/hour.

Putting down the “simple math” of these work rates and comparing his decision-making roles with the household chore, the CEO refused to invest his time in roles that would keep him occupied but not give him much income. He expressed to instead keep a worker to clean his utensils and pay them $15/hour when he would already be making $5,000 for the said time period.
“Haven’t done dishes in 4 years”, read his LinkedIn post drawing the attention of many users. “Not because I’m lazy. Because my time is worth $5,000/hour”, he wrote further.
Netizens react after his LinkedIn post goes viral
Ravi Abuvala’s LinkedIn post has gone viral and received a few reactions. Netizens took note of the CEO’s view aiming to use time smartly.
While some agreed with his point, others told Ravi not every work can be compared to the money associated with it. On this later note, a netizen hilarious took a dig at Ravi by saying, “Stop sleeping, because sleeping earns $0/hr”. Some tagged him as a “LinkedIn Lunatic”.
However, a few seconded the CEO who hadn’t done the dishes for years together.
“Good perspective…I value my time and I rather use it for much productive or value driven work instead of mandane chores”, one commented.
“Incredible perspective on valuing time, thank you for sharing”, said another.
