Centre Declares Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Birth Anniversary On April 14 As Public Holiday | File Photo

New Delhi: The central government on Friday, March 28, declared that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, which falls on April 14, will now be observed as a national holiday.

The announcement was made by Union culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “Now there will be a public holiday on the birth anniversary of our Baba Saheb Pujya Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ji, the architect of the Constitution, who established a new era of equality in the society.”
