At the 14th Annual Tree, Flower, Fruit & Vegetable Show 2025, held from February 14-16 at Raymond Race Track, Thane, Central Railway was awarded the First Prize for Overall Performance in the prestigious event organized by the Thane Municipal Corporation Tree Authority & Horticulture Department. The event showcased more than 200 species of plants and attracted thousands of visitors.

Central Railway’s stellar performance included victories in 15 categories. “The Central railway secured two First Prizes—for Overall Performance and for Seasonal Plants Grown in Containers. It also earned Five Second Prizes for categories like Foliage Plants in Pots, Flowering Plants in Pots, Seasonal Cut Flowers, Aromatic Plants, and Landscape on the Spot. Additionally, the railway garnered Eight Third Prizes across diverse categories including Mass Displays for Sunny and Shady Situations, Cactus & Bromeliads, Orchids, and Roses , among others” said an official.

Notably, Central Railway’s achievements also extended to the 62nd Annual Vegetable, Fruits & Flower Show 2025, organized by the National Society of Friends of the Trees at DG Ruparel College in Matunga, Mumbai. “The Central railway won the Runner-Up Championship Trophy for Overall Performance at this event. They also secured multiple top prizes, including the Dr. Chandrakant Salunke Rolling Trophy for Runner-Up and several other individual trophies for their garden displays. These included the D.A. Rode Rolling Trophy for Best Garden, awarded for the GM Bungalow garden, and the Friends of Trees Rolling Trophy for the Badhawar Park garden” said an official.

Central Railway’s impressive list of awards also featured the Palekar & Company Rolling Trophy for Mass Display of Shady Situation, the Thea C. Shroff Rolling Trophy for Fruits & Vegetables Grown in Containers, and several other accolades for Annuals, Flowering Plants, and Cut Flowers.

Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager of Central Railway, congratulated the dedicated Horticulture team for their outstanding achievements. He praised their hard work and commitment, offering words of encouragement to continue their excellent work in the future.

Both shows, with their rich displays of over 5000 saplings across categories such as Indoor, Outdoor, Medicinal, Aromatic, Orchid, Bonsai, and more, attracted an impressive crowd of around 1.5 to 2 lakh visitors. The events also featured participation from renowned institutions like Western Railway, Godrej, HPCL, Hiranandani, and many others, making the shows a major platform for horticultural excellence.
