CR was honored with the prestigious Govind Vallabh Pant Shield, awarded for overall excellence among all Railway Zones, alongside five departmental shields. The awards were presented by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, at the 69th Railway Week celebrations held on 21st December 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The CR team, which traveled on the Nizamuddin-CSMT Rajdhani Express (Train No. 22222), arrived at CSMT platform No. 18 to a grand reception. Hundreds of railway officials and employees greeted the winners with applause and flowers, as Bhangra beats filled the air to celebrate the momentous occasion.
The entire platform was crowded with railwaymen and women eager to catch a glimpse of the Govind Vallabh Pant Shield and other departmental shields. To mark the occasion, a special display of the shields was arranged at the heritage precincts of CSMT, where Dharam Veer Meena, along with the Principal Heads of Departments (PHODs), Senior Officers, and a large crowd of railway employees, participated in the festivities.
Speaking at the event, General Manager Meena expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated employees and officers of Central Railway, acknowledging their collective effort and teamwork in achieving this prestigious honor.
To commemorate the success, Meena released a bunch of tricolour balloons into the sky, symbolizing the triumph of teamwork and dedication. The event was followed by a session of group photographs with the proud winners and enthusiastic railwaymen and women, capturing the joyous spirit of the occasion.
