Central Railway’s General Manager,  Dharam Veer Meena, conducted an inspection of the Igatpuri-CSMT section of the Mumbai Division  on 23rd March. The inspection focused on the ongoing  project including 3rd and 4th line work between Kalyan and Kasara and Kalyan Yard remodeling, aiming to enhance passenger convenience and operational efficiency.

Kalyan – Kasara third fourth line project will be completed in phase manner, railway targeting to  phase  2026- 2027. After completion of the project seperate corridor for local and long distance and goods trains will be available. Currently thses trains are running on same corridor in result if any long distance trains reached Kasara during rush hour, that train is regulated in rhe section to clear the peak hours rush of local trains. After completion of third fourth line project between Kalyan Kasara this problem will be ended.

At Kalyan, the General Manager reviewed the remodelling and segregation work of Kalyan Yard. After completion pf this project bottleneck at Kalyan will be reduced and pantuality of suburban trains will be improved. Currently due to congestion in Kalyan yard several trains service being affected daily.

Apart from that he also inspected the Kalyan Railway Hospital and inaugurated the New Course Content and renovated classroom at the Advanced Training Centre at  Kalyan.

During the inspection, Meena visited Asangaon station, where he examined the Station Booking office, New RPF Post, Railway Staff Colony, and Garden. These initiatives are designed to boost security, staff welfare, and passenger convenience. At Kalyan, the General Manager reviewed the remodelling and segregation work of Kalyan Yard, inspected the Kalyan Railway Hospital, and inaugurated the New Course Content and renovated classroom at the Advanced Training Centre, Kalyan.

The General Manager also inspected the Ghat section between Igatpuri and Kasara.Earlier ,Dharam Veer Meena, commenced the safety inspection from Igatpuri station’ with  inspection of Rolling in / Rolling out hut, Route Relay Interlocking cabin and Water Treatment Plant.

Meena also inaugurated the Combined Crew Lobby and  released a booklet on “Signal failure and rectification” for improved reliability and distributed application-specific Tablets for S&T supervisors to enhance operational efficiency.

The General Manager also reviewed various passenger amenities, cleanliness and food stalls at Igatpuri station.
