A cement truck fell into a ravine at New Kasara Ghat on the Mumbai-Agra highway on Friday (March 21) morning. Two people died on the spot in this horrific accident.
According to the information received, the truck, loaded with cement, was heading towards Mumbai around dawn. The driver lost control near the brake failure point at New Kasara Ghat, and the truck fell directly into the ravine. The truck was completely destroyed in this accident, and cement is spread everywhere in the ravine. The horrific visuals of the destoyed truck have surfaced online now.


As soon as the information about the accident was received, the Highway Police Station Ghoti, Route Patrol Team, and Disaster Management Team from Kasara-Shahapur reached the spot. They started rescue operations and recovered the bodies of the two.
Saud Ahmed Ansari (28, resident of Malegaon) and his colleague Abdul Majeed Abdul Wahab, the driver of the truck bearing number MH 18 BG 9004, died in this accident. Their bodies have been sent to Igatpuri Rural Hospital for autopsy. The incident caused traffic disruption in Kasara Ghat for some time.
