Kolkata: The special CBI court admonished the CBI officials on Thursday for not filing the prosecution sanction order given by the state government in connection to the case of alleged financial irregularity involving Sandip Ghosh, former principal of the RG Kar Medical College.
Ghosh’s lawyer, Zohaib Rauf, alleged that despite securing the sanction order on January 27, the agency did not inform the trial court about it.
The special court had also issued a show cause notice to the central agency officials asking them the reason for the delay.
The special court which is likely to start the process of charge framing within seven days will hear the case again on Friday.
Notably, the central investigating agency produced the sanction order by the state government before the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday.
Incidentally, the wife of Sandip Ghosh, on Thursday got transferred from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital to Beliaghata ID hospital.
Meanwhile, the RG Kar rape and murder victim’s parents visited Raj Bhavan on Thursday evening to meet Governor CV Ananda Bose.
Talking to the media, the victim’s parents said that they have requested the Governor to make them meet President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
“The Governor had assured of all help and said to email him the letter. We also told him that we are miffed with the way the central agency is probing. He said that he is with us,” said the victim’s parents.
Earlier this day, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president and MoS Sukanta Majumdar visited the house of RG Kar victim and stated that the parents of the victim had written a letter for CBI which he will deliver at CBI’s office.
