CBI arrests Mulund Station Master for accepting ₹9,000 bribe; investigation underway | Representative Image
Mumbai: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended accused Station Master of Mulund Mumbai Suburban station for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 9,000 from the complainant. The apprehended accused has been identified as Laxman Das, Station Master, Mulund Railway Station.
A case was registered by CBI against accused on allegations that accused demanded bribe from the complainant who looking after the parking at Mulund Railway station on behalf of private company.
In February 2025, accused Station Master of Mulund Railway Station allegedly came to his parking and asked for Rs 10,000 as a bribe per month to let him work smoothly and that accused will resolve complaints against him or his parking. Accused Station Master kept demanding monthly bribe amounts.
It was also alleged that accused imposed penalty twice on minor pretexts and harassed complainant as he did not pay bribe to accused. After negotiation, accused agreed to accept bribe of Rs. 9,000 per month from the complainant.
CBI laid a trap and caught accused Station Master red-handed for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.9,000/- through Sweeper, working at same station.
Investigation is continuing.
