India initiated ‘Operation Brahma,’ dispatching 15 tonnes of relief supplies, including tents, blankets, food, water purifiers, and medications, to Yangon via a C130J aircraft. Indian authorities reported that additional aid flights would be on the way. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his readiness to provide support and directed officials to remain alert.

Furthermore, the Southeast Asian organization ASEAN acknowledged the urgent humanitarian needs in Myanmar and pledged to work together for effective aid and recovery efforts.

Their diplomats emphasized solidarity and the importance of immediate assistance. Geologist Jess Phoenix emphasized that the earthquake unleashed energy equivalent to 334 atomic bombs, raising concerns about ongoing aftershocks, which may continue for months as the Indian tectonic plate pushes against the Eurasian plate beneath Myanmar.

Officials have requested assistance from overseas to save the trapped workers. They have also initiated an investigation into the building collapse and established a committee to look into it.

Numerous commercial and residential structures in Bangkok sustained significant fractures, and an aging bridge across the Irrawaddy River partially fell apart. The renowned Mandalay University experienced a significant blaze.

The earthquake emphasized the area’s susceptibility to seismic events because it is situated in a region of intense tectonic activity. Six individuals have died, and at least 50 workers are believed to be trapped after a building fell in Bangkok yesterday as a result of a strong earthquake.

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra announced Bangkok as a disaster zone and deployed emergency teams to aid in rescue efforts. Rescue squads were sent out to find and save people stuck beneath the debris.
