Badnawar (Madhya Pradesh): A woman was killed in a devastating head-on collision between a car and container near Nageshwar temple on Ujjain-Badnawar four-lane road on Friday, a police official confirmed. As per reports, the deceased woman was identified as Puja Jain (32) and her husband Nayan Ambor Jain who got seriously injured.

The couple, residents of Rajgarh were returning home from their in-laws’ house in Ujjain when a speeding container collided with their vehicle. The impact was so severe that the driver’s side of the car was extensively damaged as a result of which Pooja was killed on the spot.

Their twin daughters and Nayan’s brother Chayan Jain, who were also in the car, escaped without serious injuries. Emergency Medical Technicians, Gokul Paggi and pilot Kailash Chauhan, swiftly transported the deceased and the injured to Badnawar hospital.

Following first aid, Nayan was referred to a hospital in Indore for further treatment. Police confirmed the container was seized and a case registered against the driver. Tragically, the incident marks another death on the newly-constructed four-lane road, raising concerns as 15-16 fatalities have occurred in the last two months, prompting calls for increased safety measures.
