The Government of Canada has provided relief to Indian students as well as foreign students. Indian students arriving in Canada will now be able to work 24 hours a week. According to Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada, students can work in Canada 24 hours a week without a campus permit.
Till now Indian students were allowed to work for twenty hours without a work permit. About two lakh students from Punjab go to Canada for studies. After taking admission in various courses he worked twenty hours a week.
Important things for students
Increasing working hours will increase the income of students and they will get work experience along with studies. Recently, the Canadian government closed the Student Direct Scheme, which sparked anger among the girl students. Students are required to obtain SIN number (Social Insurance Number) while taking admission in any college or university in Canada. With a CIN number, a student can work 24 hours a week. If a student does two jobs, the total time for both the jobs should be 24 hours.
Which students will be able to work 24 hours a week?
A student studies full-time at designated educational institutions. The student must be studying at a college or university and be part of a professional or vocational training program. A student’s course must last for at least six months, at the end of which he or she receives a degree, diploma and certificate. The student must have his/her CIN number.
