The cost of living in Canada is continuously increasing and in addition to the housing crisis. The arrival of foreign workers and students is increasing pressure on healthcare. Keeping this in mind, the Canadian government has decided that it will allow foreigners to enter the country in minimum numbers, which has increased the visa rejection rate.

The visa rejection rate in each visa category has increased, whether it is a student or a laborer. Workers working in Canada are issued visa visas to meet or travel to their family. This visa category rejection rate is the highest. 54% of applicants applying for visitor visa were not given visas, while in 2023 the number would be 40%. The student permit rejection rate has also increased to 52%, which was 38% last year.

The enrollment has also declined due to a low number of students getting visas, which is having an impact on the economy. Student visa applications declined by 46% in Canada. 8,68,000 applications were received in 2023, while in 2024 the number increased to 4,69,000.

What is the status of work permit?

The work permit has improved slightly, but still 22% of applicants are rejected. The Canadian government has decided to reduce the number of new permanent residents by 20% from 2025 to 2027. Only 395,000 new people will get a permanent residence in 2025. Earlier this number was high. Canada wants to reduce the number of foreigners in any way, for which he is not hesitating to take strict steps.
