CAG reports bound to increase AAP’s problems

The BJP Government, in its first cabinet meeting, decided to table all pending 14 CAG reports when the first assembly session started. According to sources, these reports are related to AAP’s 11 years Government in Delhi and the Kejariwal led Government never tabled these reports in the Assembly. It is said that CAG reports have reportedly raised many objections related to Covid mismanagement, mohalla clinics, recruitment of staff etc. Sources said that the then government had not taken the required permission from the LG, who is the Head of the Delhi UT administrative. One should not be surprised if a report exposes a scam of crores of rupees.

Bangladesh’s move to heighten embankments threatening Indian cities?

Bangladesh has undertaken construction work to increase the height of the embankments and strengthen them and this appears to be the latest addition to the deterioration of Indo-Bangla border ties. Kailashahar, a culturally rich town in Tripura, which is also the headquarters of Unakoti District, is under the threat of perpetual flooding because of the construction. The district has a total geographical area of 686.97 Sq. Km and it is bounded by Bangladesh on the Western side. Other cities are also said to be in constant threat due to this development. Since the beginning of this financial year, Bangladesh has exported goods worth Rs 179.88 crore, while India has exported practically nothing. Tripura shares an 856-kilometer-long land border with Bangladesh, which had always been seen as a friendly country until August 5, 2024, when the Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country. In the last few months, international exchanges between both countries have proved that the longstanding friendship between the neighbours has gradually run out of steam.

BJP high command to intervene in internal discord in Karnataka

The internal discord within Karnataka BJP is escalating and the party’s central leadership is expected to intervene after the Delhi elections are over. The party’s top bosses face a dilemma: ensuring stability while addressing the growing unrest. Vijayendra, appointed state BJP President in 2023, is unlikely to be replaced before the next election cycle. However, to prevent the rift from affecting electoral prospects in the state, central leadership may offer dissidents the key positions at the state and central levels.
