Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: A horrific road accident occurred on National Highway-27 near Bhelsar, Ayodhya on late Saturday (March 8) night. As per reports, a double-decker bus travelling from Gorakhpur to Delhi lost control and collided with a pillar, causing the bus to overturn. The incident left one person dead and 32 others injured.
How Did the Accident Take Place?
As per a report by NBT, the accident took place around 1:30 AM when the high-speed bus veered off the road, crashing into a pillar with a loud noise that startled nearby residents. Upon hearing the crash, people rushed to the spot and alerted the police. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations.
19 Individuals Severly Injured
The injured were immediately transported to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Rudauli for treatment. Due to the severity of their injuries, 19 of the victims were later referred to Medical College Darshan Nagar. The authorities also confirmed that the condition of some injured individuals is critical.
Following the accident, traffic on the highway was severely disrupted. However, the police and local administration swiftly worked to clear the debris and restore the flow of vehicles, bringing the situation under control.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, with authorities examining factors that may have contributed to the bus losing control. The identities of the deceased and the injured have not yet been revealed.
Authorities have urged travelers to remain cautious while on the roads and have extended their condolences to the families affected by the accident.
