Burqa-Clad Woman Slaps Security Officer At Masjid An-Nabawi In Saudi Arabia’s Medina | X
Medina (Saudi Arabia), March 29: In a shocking incident, a woman was caught on camera assaulting a security officer inside Masjid an-Nabawi also called the prophet’s mosque in Saudi Arabia’s Medina. The video is viral on social media in which the woman is seen slapping the security officer trying to stop her from going in restricted space at the mosque. The security officer slaps her back multiple times. The viral video has sparked debate over the security protocols at the holy site.
It can be seen in the video that the burqa-clad woman is walking briskly, while the guard is asking her to stop. The guard then stands in front of the woman trying to pass the barricades placed in the mosque. The guard then angrily asks her to go from the other direction by waving his hands.
The woman tries to dodge the officer by moving ahead from the other side of him. However, the guard does not allows her to move ahead. The woman then angrily slaps the guard on his face, prompting the guard to slap her back. The guard is seen slapping the woman multiple times, untill the people present at the spot intervened and stopped the guard.
Medina Police reacted to the video and said, “The department is currently investigating the incident of a woman assaulting a security officer in the Prophet’s Mosque while he was performing his duties and is completing the necessary legal procedures.”
It is prohibited to assault a security officer while he is carrying out his duties of implementing regulations and instructions and detecting violations within his jurisdiction. These acts are considered major crimes that warrant arrest and severe punishment.

It is prohibited to assault a security officer while performing his official duties, or to cause damage to his official vehicle or any equipment he uses.
These actions are considered major offenses that require detention.
This includes the following:
1. All crimes involving assault on security officers while they are performing their official duties.
2. Crimes that result in damage to the official vehicles of security officers.
3. Crimes that result in damage to the equipment used by security officers, such as weapons, communication devices, and the like.
4. This also applies to criminal investigators and those performing criminal investigation tasks during the execution of their duties, in accordance with Article 26 of the Criminal Procedure Law.
Clause (First – 18) of Ministerial Decision No. (2000), dated 10/06/1435 AH, defines these as major offenses that require detention.
One of the social media users said, “They’re both wrong. She shouldn’t be ignoring the rules and he needs to be able to handle a situation like this better, as a security guard. Striking an officer in Madina is a serious offence.”
