Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), February 26: A shocking incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, where a burqa-clad woman publicly thrashed a man who was following her and passing inappropriate comments. The woman lost her patience, grabbed the man’s collar and slapped him repeatedly in full public view. A video of the incident was recorded by the onlookers and the video has gone viral on social media. After the video spread, the Kanpur Police took action and arrested the accused.
Details About The Incident
The incident took place in the Bekanganj market area, where the woman had gone shopping in the market. A young man started following her and making vulgar comments. At first, she ignored him, but when he continued, she decided to take action. She grabbed him in the middle of the crowded market and started slapping him repeatedly. The man even fell to the ground due to the force of the slaps.
Man Begged for Help
In the viral video, the man can be seen pleading with the woman and asking the people around him for help. He kept saying, “Brother, please save me, I won’t do this again.” However, a bystander in the video told him, “You always cause trouble, everyone here is fed up with you.”
Family Claims He is Mentally Ill
The woman also forced the man to sit on his knees while scolding him. According to ACP Anwarganj Abhishek Rahul, the accused has been identified as Adnan, a resident of Bajaria. He has been arrested by the police. His family has claimed that he is mentally ill and is undergoing treatment.
Police Statement
Police issued a statement in connection with the matter. The police said, “A video going viral on social media in which a man is being beaten up by a woman alleging molestation, is of 25.02.2025, cognizance was taken by the local police, the name of the person seen in the video is Adnan son of late Abdul Mabud resident of Bajaria police station, the family members of the accused were talked to, who told that Adnan’s mental condition is not normal, he is undergoing treatment. The accused has been caught by the police, byte given by Assistant Police Commissioner Anwarganj regarding investigation and necessary action.”
