Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has created history in the latest ICC Test rankings on Wednesday. He continues to top the bowler rankings and has now become the first Indian bowler to score the highest rating points. Bumrah overtook recently retired spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin, who had achieved his best rating of 904 points in 2016. Bumrah recently equaled Ashwin with his brilliant performance in the fourth Test against Australia and created a new Indian record. Now he has 907 rating points. Bumrah is joint 17th in the all-time list with England’s Derek Underwood with 907 rating points.

Jasprit Bumrah made a big record on the first day of the new year, the first Indian bowler to do so.

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has performed strongly in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. India is currently behind 1-2 in the five-Test series. The fifth and last match of the series will be played from Friday. Bumrah has performed brilliantly in the series so far and has taken 30 wickets at an average of less than 20. Indian batsmen have not been able to perform well due to which the team is lagging behind.

The ranking of Australian captain and fast bowler Pat Cummins has also improved significantly. He took 6 wickets in the fourth Test and earned 15 rating points and is ranked third in the bowlers’ rankings. Cummins has also secured the third position in the Test all-rounder rankings on the basis of his important innings of 90 runs during Australia’s spectacular victory in Melbourne.

Playing at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Bumrah became the fastest Indian fast bowler to take 200 wickets in Test cricket. Earlier, the great Kapil Dev had made the record of taking 200 wickets in 50 matches against West Indies in Port of Spain in March 1983. Bumrah achieved the feat in his 44th Test, making him the second Indian along with Ravindra Jadeja to be the fastest to 200 Test wickets.
