After much delay and controversies, Diljit Dosanjh’s film, Punjab ’95, is all set to release in theatres in February
In the film, Diljit will be seen essaying the role of Sikh human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra
On Wednesday, Diljit shared some behind-the-scenes stills from the sets of Punjab ’95 and announced that the teaser will release on January 17
In the BTS photos, Diljit can be seen languishing in jail with his face covered in blood and wounds
Punjab ’95 was reportedly stuck with the Censor Board for over a year due to its controversial depiction of the Punjab Police
The CBFC had proposed as many as 120 cuts in the film, however, it is not known if the makers have complied to it
Jaswant Singh Khalra is known for his exposé on Punjab Police’s extra-judicial killings of Sikh youth in the late 90s. Khalra was later murdered in 1995
