Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is going to shut down its 3G service soon, which will affect millions of customers. The government telecom company had earlier stopped this service in many districts of Bihar and now 3G service will be stopped in other districts including Patna from January 15.

In which districts 3G service stopped?

BSNL had shut down 3G services in districts like Motihari, Katihar, Khagaria, and Munger in the first phase. Now there are preparations to close it in other districts including Patna. This step has been taken with the aim of activating the company’s 4G network and providing better services.

Impact of 3G service shutdown on customers

The closure of 3G service will have the biggest impact on those customers who still have 3G SIM.

  • Impact on Internet Usage:

Customers having 3G SIM will no longer be able to use internet on their mobile.

  • Call and SMS facility:

They will only be able to make calls and SMS, but will not be able to avail data services.

  • 4G network expansion:

According to BSNL officials, 4G network has been installed in the state. For this reason 3G services are being stopped.

What should 3G SIM users do?

Customers who have a 3G SIM and want to use internet data will have to upgrade to a 4G SIM.

  1. SIM replacement process:

BSNL is converting 3G SIM to 4G SIM without any extra cost.

  2. Where to change SIM?

Customers can get their SIM changed by visiting the nearest office of BSNL.

  3. What do you need to take with you?

To change the SIM, customers will have to carry the identity card with them.

  4. Future preparations:

BSNL’s new 4G SIM will also be suitable for 5G services.

BSNL’s 4G and 5G network expansion

BSNL has announced that it will upgrade its 4G network across the country in 2025. Along with this, the company is planning to launch 5G services. With this step the company aims to provide better internet services to its customers.

Increase in the number of BSNL customers

The number of BSNL customers has increased in recent times.

  • Effect of expensive plan:

Due to private telecom companies repeatedly increasing the price of recharge plans, many customers are turning to BSNL.

  • Affordable Services:

BSNL’s affordable rates and stable services have made it an attractive option for customers.
