Shimla, 01 October (Hindustan Reporter). Mobile consumers in Himachal Pradesh are moving towards Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). Due to increase in tariffs by private telecom comp.es Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea, there is a huge increase in the number of new customers in BSNL in the state. There has been a significant increase in the number of new BSNL customers in the state. Ever since comp.es have increased the prices on recharge. Many consumers are porting their SIM to BSNL. Besides, consumers are also buying new SIMs of BSNL. Private telecom comp.es have increased tariff plans from July 3. Since then the sales of BSNL SIM have been continuously increasing in Himachal.
In Himachal, 1 lakh 93 thousand new consumers have joined BSNL within the last six months. At the same time, consumers of other comp.es also got their SIM ported to BSNL. The special thing is that where other private telephone comp.es have reached 5G network. Whereas BSNL is far behind. Only BSNL’s 4G network is available in the state. Still, consumers are liking the service of BSNL.
Chief General Manager of BSNL Himachal Circle, Vivek Jaiswal said that BSNL is continuously strengthening its services in Himachal Pradesh. Currently 4G service is available here and there are plans to start 5G service from March 2025 while work on 6G service is also going on.
Vivek Jaiswal said that there are 15 lakh BSNL customers in Himachal and BSNL is continuously trying to solve the problems like call drop and network problem.
He said that from the month of April this year till now, 1.93 lakh consumers have left the connections of other private comp.es and have joined BSNL and the trust of consumers in BSNL has increased. He said that 1068 4G towers have been installed in the state and the target has been set to install two thousand by March. BSNL has 724 towers in Himachal Pradesh where there is no network.
He said that BSNL is continuously getting support from the Government of India. BSNL’s fiber network is the strongest and widest in Himachal. In the coming three years, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited will be in front of the public in a new and better form.
BSNL celebrating 25th foundation day
BSNL celebrated 25 years of its establishment on 1st October i.e. Tuesday. On this occasion, BSNL org.zed various programs across the state. In this series, a blood donation camp was also org.zed in Shimla, which was inaugurated by Vivek Jaiswal, Chief General Manager of BSNL Himachal Circle.
