Guna (Madhya Pradesh): BSF Inspector General (IG) Rajesh Sharma, a native of Guna, passed away following a sudden heart attack. He was recently promoted and posted at the BSF camp in Tekanpur, Gwalior. He was due to retire in two years.
The incident occurred while he was in Tekanpur, where his colleagues rushed him to the BSF hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
About IG Rajesh Sharma
Rajesh Sharma had his early education at Arya Samaj Mandir in Guna and later completed his higher studies at Government PG College, earning a B.Com and an LLB. He joined the BSF in 1987 as an Assistant Commandant and, after a year of training, was posted to Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, along the Line of Control in 1988.
Throughout his career, Sharma served in various crucial roles, including a tenure with the Special Protection Group (SPG) in Delhi. He also contributed to the Madhya Pradesh SDERF. On January 27, he was promoted to IG while serving at the BSF Gujarat Frontier. Following the formalities of his new rank, he was posted to Tekanpur, Gwalior, where he had recently taken charge. His sudden demise has left the BSF and his colleagues in mourning, marking the loss of a dedicated officer who served the nation for decades.
