Guwahati, 02 October (HS). Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier celebrated its 14th Raising Day. Inspector General, BSF Guwahati Frontier, Makrand Deuskar was present as the chief guest on this occasion. He appreciated the dedication and contribution of the soldiers deployed in protecting the international border.
BSF Guwahati Frontier PRO said on Wednesday that in his address, Inspector General Deuskar congratulated the soldiers for their invaluable service and inspired them to maintain the ideals of the force. He underlined the importance of the role of BSF in protecting the residents of Assam and West Bengal and assured that BSF personnel are ready to serve and protect the country at all times.
Established in 2011, the BSF Guwahati Frontier was created by bifurcating the border areas from the North Bengal and Meghalaya Frontiers. Over the last 14 years, it has lived up to the expectations of the local public.
Apart from its main function of securing the international border, this frontier has played an important role in combating drug and cattle smuggling, illegal infiltration and cross-border crimes. Along with this, it is ensuring border management by effectively engaging with the border communities.
On the occasion of Raising Day, Guwahati Frontier org.zed a cultural program and a traditional Badakhana at BSF Campus, Patgaon, Guwahati, in which all the soldiers of Guwahati Frontier along with 1st Battalion NDRF also participated.
The campus echoed with the applause and cheers of the audience present at BSF Headquarters, Patgaon campus. The musical band of BSF kept increasing the enthusiasm of the audience in its attractive attire, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
