The quality gram pods were exported from Shivswaraj Shetkari Women Producer Company in Pandharpur taluka through a joint initiative of Exim Farmer Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EFICCI), Umed Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Reform Mission and APEDA. Through Universe Exports, this export umed has become a historic milestone for the organization, and while leaving the container with a cold storage facility in Koparkharene, Umaid CEO Nilesh Sagar flagged off.

 

The event was attended by Effiqi President Praveen Wankade, UMED Additional Director Parameshwar Raut, APEDA Deputy General Manager Nagpal Lohkare, Under Secretary Dhanwant Mali, Shivswaraj Company Director Kaushalya Jadhav and other women board members were present.

Umed CEO Nilesh Sagar said, “Umaid is committed to strengthening rural women. Today 2 tonnes of quality sheva is being exported from Pandharpur to Dubai and women are getting 80-90% higher than local market price. This success has been possible due to the tireless efforts of Pravin Wankhade, Chairman of Efficcitci.”

Praveen Wankhede said, “The main objective of EFICCI is to provide a global market for Indian agricultural products, especially by connecting women -led companies directly with foreign buyers, organizing export training workshops and increasing their profitability by organizing women in all stages of the price chain.” Parmeshwar Raut highlighted opportunities for women entrepreneurs in agricultural exports, while Nagpal Lohkre assured full support to rural women in opening the doors of international markets. In the end, Shivswaraj Company director Kaushalya Jadhav said, “The farmer’s son finally did this! Today women are getting good price, so more women will look for such opportunities.” Special thanks were given to the teams of Efficciti, Umaid and Universe Exports for this initiative.
