BPSC Recruitment: Apply for 2027 posts
- October 2024:
- BPSC released the vacancy of Combined Competitive Examination for 2027 posts in 27 departments.
- 4.80 lakh candidates applied for this.
- 13 December:
- The examination was conducted in which 3.25 lakh candidates took part.
- 912 examination centers were set up in 36 districts. There were 65 centers in Patna.
- There was a center for 12,000 candidates in Bapu examination complex, but 2,500 students could not take the examination.
Controversy in Bapu examination complex: Allegations of late paper and leak
- During the examination, students alleged that they got the paper late and it was also leaked.

25 December: Demonstration and police lathicharge
- Students came to demonstrate outside the BPSC office.

- Patna officials met to convince the students, but things did not work out.
- Prashant Kishor came in support of the students and talked about student parliament at Gandhi Maidan, but the administration did not allow it.

- Prashant Kishore reached Gandhi Maidan, but after his departure, when the students started gheraoing the residence, the police resorted to lathi charge.
- A case was registered against hundreds of students and Prashant Kishore.

- Prashant Kishore started fast unto death at Gandhi Maidan.
- The administration gave them notice and asked them to leave, but they remained on strike.
December 30: Students’ delegation met the Chief Secretary
- The students met the Chief Secretary regarding their demands, but no solution was found.

January 3: Road and rail routes disrupted
- On the call of Pappu Yadav, his supporters blocked roads and railways.

January 4: Re-examination of Bapu Center
- Today, the examination of students of Bapu Examination Complex is being conducted at 22 examination centers in Patna.
- Students are still adamant on their demand to cancel the entire examination.
