Over the years, India’s bilateral trade with Azerbaijan has increased from US $ 50 million in 2005 to US $ 1.435 billion in 2023. During the year, India’s import from Azerbaijan was US $ 1.235 billion and exports 201 million US dollars.
India’s exports to Azerbaijan during April-February 2024-2025 stood at US $ 86.07 million, while in 2023–2024 it was US $ 89.67 million. India’s import from Azerbaijan during April-February 2024-25 stood at US $ 1.93 million, while in 2023–2024 it was US $ 0.74 million.

India’s import from Türkiye, its total imports are 0.5 percent of US $ 720 billion.

Meanwhile, according to data from the Ministry of External Affairs, in 2023, more than 115,000 tourists came from India in Azerbaijan, which is almost double the number of tourists visiting 2022. After Russia, Türkiye and Iran, India is the fourth largest source of tourists visiting Azerbaijan. Except for neighbors, India is the biggest source of tourists for Azerbaijan.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Türkiye, 3,30,000 Indian passengers arrived in Türkiye in 2024, while in 2014 the number was 119,503.
Türkiye is $ 1,200–1,500 per Indian tourist, in 2023, Türkiye will have a total estimated Indian tourist expenditure of $ 350–400 million (about Rs 3,000 crore).
Türkiye is a country that is highly dependent on tourism, this region contributes 12 percent to the country’s GDP. Tourism sector contributes 10 percent to the total employment in the country. India is one of the fastest growing source markets of Türkiye.
